Jennifer Lopez Headlining Next Super Bowl Halftime Show? She’s ‘At The Top Of The NFL’s List

Jennifer Lopez brings that perfect combination of sexy and family friendly entertainment, so it’s kind of a surprise the superstar hasn’t already performed at the Super Bowl Halftime show.

But that may very well change come February, as the Dinero singer is said to be in talks to perform during the NFL Championship game taking place next year!

According to an ET source, the 50-year-old singer is “at the top of the NFL’s list” of artists to perform at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on February 2, 2020. While Jenny is said to be down, the deal is far from official just yet.

RANK: Super Bowl Halftime Show Performers From The Past Decade!

The insider explained:

“Jennifer and the NFL have been in talks for a while, but there are many factors that go into the deal before it’s official. Jennifer has been saying for a while she wants to perform at the halftime show and it looks like her dream may come true.”

Overall, it looks like the planets are aligning for a J.Lo Halftime performance in 2020. The source added:

“Jennifer has had an incredible career that spans over decades and this platform would give her the biggest stage ever to showcase it. Jennifer has already worked with the NFL this year promoting the season, so things are looking good.”

As football fans know, the mother-of-two has partnered with the NFL this year. Earlier this week, she shared a video on Instagram promoting the league’s 100th season.

She said in the video:

“Football is finally back, and this season is special. One hundred years of the game we all love, filled with images to remember forever. And now it’s time for the next story to be written. The 100th chapter.”

The New York native previously opened up about the possibility of performing next year’s Halftime show back in July. Speaking to ET backstage at her It’s My Party concert, she said:

“Yeah, we’ve thought about the Super Bowl and it’s in Miami, it’s a big deal but we’ll see. They make their own decisions over there.”

It’s an involved decision making process, that’s for sure!

A month later, JAY-Z’s entertainment company, Roc Nation, announced they would be partnering with the NFL as the league’s official Live Music Entertainment Strategists. The rapper later explained in a press conference how he was planning to advise the NFL on the selection of artists performing at the Halftime show.

When asked if Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, or Pitbull — who all have strong ties to Miami — could be in the running to headline, Jay said:

“We had this conversation, you can’t go to a city, plop a show down and then leave. Like, at least speak to the community. Speak to the guys that’s on the ground organizing things and trying to make things better, in that sort of way… Tampa’s next . I love Tampa, but I have no idea who’s from there, who would perform… So, I don’t want to be running into that problem… Sometimes it may happen and it may wind up that the person is from the city that they perform, but you don’t want to get in that space ’cause then, again, who performs in Tampa?”

An expert move, distracting us with Tampa talk like that.

We’ll find out soon enough if J.Lo ends up being the headliner for next year’s Halftime Show. Would U like to see the Hustlers star on America’s biggest stage?
