What Mischa Barton wants from ‘The Hills’

There’s more to Mischa Barton than “The O.C.”

The actress, 33, who will be appearing on MTV’s “The Hills: New Beginnings,” premiering Monday at 10 p.m., shared she’s hoping fans will get to know her real personality, something she believes the public hasn’t gotten the chance to see.

“I think there’s always been a lot of mystery around me, and people always have a lot of questions about who I really am and what I’m really like,” Barton told Page Six in a recent interview, adding, “I’m not sure that this show will clear up any of that, but what I do think about that is that I am a voice of reason and I am a pretty chill person.”

While Barton has already found friends in series veterans Audrina Patridge and Stephanie Pratt, her co-stars have struggled to look past her previous roles.

“I’ll always see you as Marissa Cooper,” Pratt said of Barton’s tragic “O.C.” character, who died in Season 3 of the Fox drama.

As for Barton, she knows “everyone always has their preconceived notions,” but is hopeful “they see past that.”
