Mum finds CD in drawer – but can’t believe her eyes when she sees what’s on it
It was just supposed to be a simple spot of housework, but a quick clean turned into a horrifying experience for one woman.
A mum who was inspired by Marie Kondo’s new Netflix cleaning show finally decided to clear out a drawer in her house that had been causing her "anxiety".
But upon rummaging through its contents she stumbled across a CD in a paper case – it was labelled "Ben’s Wedding".
She initially assumed it was just pictures of her wedding, but she became intrigued by the fact that the label featured her mother-in-law’s "erratic" handwriting, so she decided to take a closer look.
In a post on Mumsnet, the woman, who posted under the username CountryMarch, shared her findings and asked for a little advice as she simply couldn’t believe her eyes.
She said: "Wondering why I’d never seen it in the seven years we’ve been married, I plodded over to my laptop and opened the file marked ‘wedding’.
"So it turns out that this was a set of photographs commissioned by my MIL of our wedding."
The woman claims there were over 400 edited photos on the disc.
But the weirdest part?
She wasn’t in a single one of them.
"I mean WTF NOT ONE," she raged. "Clever angles ensured that I was always hidden, or group shots that were clearly half a photo, on which I would have been standing next to my newly minted husband in the other half of the photo.
"Just 400 photos of a man getting married… on his own.
"Now my MIL and I don’t have an ‘aren’t we besties’ relationship, but wow!!"
The mum went on to explain that she mentioned the photos to her husband, but he merely laughed them off.
However at the end of the day, she went to sleep "seething" with the knowledge that his mother had "deliberately paid someone" to come to their wedding, take photos and ensure she wasn’t in any of them."
She adds: "Am I being unreasonable to think that is really really f***ing weird. not to mention rude and actually slightly psychopathic?"
More than 100 people took the time to respond to her post, with many agreeing that it’s out of order.
One person commented: "I’d just ask her outright because there is literally no justification for that!"
Another said: "I’d say it’s too late to confront her but it’s super weird and you’re right to be wary."
A third added: "That’s a f***** up thing to do."
