These Celebrities Rang in 2019 In Style
Happy New Year! Saying goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019 can potentially mean so many things: setting new goals, developing better habits, or even just listing which movies we want to see this year. Whether you went to a party, hung out with friends at home, or even curled up with a book and went to bed early on New Year’s Eve, it may be comforting to know that some of our favorite celebrities rang in the new year in similar fashion.
It wasn’t all glitz and glam for some, like Drew Barrymore, though others enjoyed vacations with friends, family, or their significant others. There were fireworks, midnight kisses, live performances and most importantly, time to reflect on the lessons of 2018, which was honestly a pretty big year.
Before we dive into working on our own new year’s resolutions, let’s take a moment to live vicariously through these celebrities who shared their own celebrations and well wishes for the year ahead on their social media.

As I head into next year it’s not about what we can do it’s what we MUST do as working moms and working dads. Anything is possible. I am getting ready for the first match of the year and my dear sweet baby @olympiaohanian was tired and sad and simply needed mama’s love. So if it means warming up and stretching while holding my baby that’s what #thismama will do. My fellow moms and dads working- or stay home it’s equally as intense- but you inspire me. Hearing your stories makes me know I can do this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This year is to you! What are some things you had to do while working? #thismama #thisdaddy
Serena Williams gave a shout-out to working parents everywhere with photos of her stretching for a tennis match, her daughter in her arms. “Anything is possible,” she wrote. “I am getting ready for the first match of the year and my dear sweet baby @olympiaohanian was tired and sad and simply needed mama’s love. So if it means warming up and stretching while holding my baby that’s what #thismama will do.”
Jennifer Garner rang in the new year with sparklers and a sweet message of hope for 2019, writing, “I am grateful for all of the friendship, health, silliness and growth (even painful) of 2018.” She added, “Please, more of the same next year, for all of us,” and used a Charles Dickens quote as a hashtag to drive her point home.
Queen Elizabeth II
The Royal Family Instagram shared a compilation video of some of the queen’s most memorable moments from 2018, giving us a nostalgia-fueled look back at a big year for the British monarch.
After a residency performance in Vegas to close out a banner year that featured her film debut, Lady Gaga spent some time with Céline Dion, who rocked out in the audience while she watched Gaga’s show.

Gabrielle Union took a moment to reflect on the good parts of 2018, while noting unfinished projects that will carry into 2019. She also gave us a glimpse at her new clothing collection, which will be available next week.
Although Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t share any photos of her actual New Year’s Eve plans, she did share a sweet snap of herself and husband Brad Falchuk walking along a pier as they head into 2019 together, newly married and ready to take on a new year.
