Kim Kardashian Is Trying to Bring 1995 Back Via Her Square Tip French Manicure
Kim Kardashian West loves the ’90s. Her obsession with the era has led her to resurrect fashion trends we would have otherwise forgotten, whether it be head-to-toe neon looks, tiny Matrix-inspired sunglasses or biker shorts. So it doesn’t come as much of a surprise to see the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star trying to bring back yet another ’90s fad: French tips.
Kardashian West, 38, was seen rocking a square, French tip mani as she showed off her fresh nails on her Instagram Story after getting them done at KarJenner favorite nail salon, Modern Pamper Salon, in Hollywood.
“French Tip,” she simply captioned the video which zoomed in to give a close-up glimpse on her ’90s-inspired nails.
Although Kardashian West is known for wearing a pale, neutral hue on her nails, the star has preferred a square shape for quite some time.

“My favorite [nail] shape these days is square,” she once wrote on her app and website. “I like to file my nails myself, even when I get my nails done by someone else. I like the process to be quick and easy.”
But Kardashian West’s fixation with ’90s trends can be credited to the way her husband Kanye West has helped transform her aesthetic over the past few years.

“[Kanye] sent me a whole email like, ‘You cannot wear big glasses anymore. It’s all about tiny little glasses,’” Kardashian West said on an episode of KUWTK. “He sent me like, millions of ’90s photos with tiny little glasses like this.”
She also told PEOPLE that she gives her husband all credit for the outfits she’s photographed in on (and off!) the red carpet.
“I really do get all of my inspiration from my husband,” Kardashian West said. “He makes my life so easy. [Now that] I have kids, it’s so much easier to wear them and dress down every day.”
