Where was Yellowstone’s Cole Hauser born?

Cole Hauser is an American actor, best known for his film and television career.

Yellowstone viewers will most likely recognise Hauser from his role as Billy in Good Will Hunting and Agent Roma in Olympus Has Fallen.

He is also well recognised for his role as s Officer Randy Willitz on the police crime drama series High Incident and Ethan Kelly on the police procedural Rogue.

The 45-year-old Yellowstone star was born on March 22, 1975, in Santa Barbara, California.

His parents Cass Warner and Wings Hauser divorced when he was just two-years-old.

Cass Warner is the founder of the Warner Sisters production company and Wings Hauser is an American actor and director, best known for his performance in the film Tough Guys Don’t Dance as Capt. Alvin Luther Regency.

Growing up, Hauser lived between Santa Barbara, Oregon, Florida and settled in Santa Barbara.

As a result, he did not see his father as much. Hauser began living with his father when he was 15-years-old and helped him pursue a career in acting.

Hauser’s first major role was in the 1992 film School Ties, where he starred opposite Brendan Fraser, Matt Damon, Chris O’Donnell and Ben Affleck.

Speaking to Havok Journal in July 2020, Hauser reflected on his childhood and his family’s connection to Montana, the home of Yellowstone.

He said: “My dad’s family is all from Montana. They are all from Helena.

“My oldest son and I spent some time there recently.

“We researched the family. I found a lot out about my family.

“My great-great-grandfather, Samual T. Hauser, basically helped fund the Louis and Clark Expedition. I didn’t even know that.

“There is a lake named after him and all kinds of stuff. We went on this little history tour.

“He was a really special guy, a pioneer in many ways.

“He has been there since 1870. Think about that area in 1870, there was nothing out there. He came through the Great Lakes and into Montana, that’s wild. Samual T. Hauser was the first governor of Montana.

“I have always had this love for the state but didn’t really know why. It makes so much sense now. I mean, my family has been there since the beginning of time.

His paternal grandfather was the Oscar-winning screenwriter Dwight Hauser, best known for his work on the TV series Disneyland and the film The Legend of Lobo.

Hauser’s maternal grandmother Betty Mae Warner was a famous artist and gallery owner, who was married to political activist and LAPD commissioner Stanley Sheinbaum.

His maternal grandfather was Milton Sperling, a Hollywood screenwriter and film producer, whose works include The Court-Marital of Billy Mitchell and Majorie Morningstar.

Speaking to the Havok Journal, Hauser described Sperling as his “mentor”.

He said: “I spent a lot of time with him as a child, and he taught me a lot.

“Things like being honest, and you know, don’t lie, cheat, and steal. Be a man. If you make mistakes acknowledge those, and move forward.

“He was a really kind but also a brilliant man. I kind of just studied him as a young kid.

“Any time I get into a situation where I think there is two ways you can go I choose the way I think my grandfather would go.

“He was just a solid human being. I have tried to model myself after him.”

Today Hauser is married to Sweet Valley High actress and photographer Cynthia Daniel.

They have been married since 2006 and have three children together, two sons Ryland and Colt and a daughter Steely Rose.
