Denise Van Outen’s ex Eddie Boxshall appears to have made a sly dig at her new autobiography, after the star appeared on several TV and radio shows to promote it this week. The Celebrity Gogglebox star took to Instagram to claim that good books should “sell without the need for PR”.

Denise, 47, split from her ex Eddie, 48, back in January after seven years together.

The relationship ended after reports emerged that Eddie had exchanged messages with other women.

Despite her heartache, Denise insisted there are “no hard feelings”, and has since released an autobiography entitled A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back, this week.

However, the drama hasn’t let up for Denise, as it seems Eddie has now made a subtle dig at the musical theatre actress over social media.

In the midst of Denise’s publicity tour for her book, Eddie took to his Instagram story today to seemingly sarcastically offer “tips” on how to sell books.

This comes after reports from The Sun that, in an extract of the book, Denise claims Eddie “blocked her from a woman he had been sexting on Instagram”.

On the social media platform, Eddie shared a front cover of a random marketing book in view of his 65,300 followers.

The book was titled: “Marketing for authors: How your book sells itself… 10 ways your book is your ultimate marketing tool.”

He then added the caption: “First way of 10: Just by being a really interesting read without the need of PR.”

This comes after Denise, who recently admitted she “wasn’t in a great place” following the split, opened up about their relationship in her autobiography.

“There were also Instagram messages alluding to phone sex with a third woman,” Denise began in an extract of her book, according to The Sun.

Denise said she found it “odd” that the woman’s account had been blocked by her – something she claimed she didn’t personally do.

Upon unblocking her and contacting her, Denise said that the woman suggested Eddie had “probably gone into my phone and blocked her, so she couldn’t message me”.

Denise also recently opened up about an ongoing health issue that has affected her and her career for years.

In a candid Instagram post about her ongoing battle with eczema, she told fans about how she’s struggled with the “difficult” skin condition and the cure she’s found.

“I have had eczema for as long as I can remember,” she wrote.“I used to think it was because of the food I was eating but I realised that my eczema appears mostly when it’s cold.

“It flares up quite badly on my arms, I’ll get dry patches and my skin will occasionally crack if I don’t get it under control.

“It’s difficult when you have a flare-up and I admit my eczema has made me feel self-conscious.

“Even times when I was performing at my cabaret show I had to amend my costume to have long sleeves to cover it up.”

Denise reveals more about her life on and off stage in her new book (published by Ebury) A Bit Of Me: From Basildon To Broadway And Back, which is on sale from £20 now from Waterstones, Amazon and other retailers.
