Gemma Atkinson surprises fans who thought she’d given birth with Soap Award appearance

Pregnant Gemma Atkinson surprised her fans who thought she'd given birth to her second child, when she made a glamorous appearance at the British Soap Awards – clearly very much still pregnant.

The 38 year old former Hollyoaks star is expecting a baby boy with Strictly Come Dancing pro fiancé, Gorka Marquez – who recently sent fans into overdrive with an Instagram post that set tongues wagging.

He posted some snaps to Instagram of himself, Gemma, and their daughter Mia as they got some fresh air, and wrote in the caption: "Home time with my girls before we became four."

Their fans were quick to comment, as one said: "Became?! Has Gemma had the baby?!" whilst someone else wrote: "Before we became 4 ??? Has the little man arrived?" and a third questioned "Became or become??"

It turns out that Spanish-born Gorka had just mixed up his tenses, and he later edited his post to say "become" rather than "became".

And Gemma proved that she was definitely still pregnant on Saturday evening as she presented the Outstanding Achievement award alongside Sheree Murphy and Verity Rushworth.

The star looked gorgeous in a high-necked sequinned gown with a daring thigh slit, whilst her blonde hair was pulled back into a bun on her head.

Gemma is now on maternity leave as she prepares to welcome the latest addition to her brood, and recently posted a couple of videos of her last day at work at Hits Radio in Manchester.

Wearing glasses, Gemma said in an Instagram video: "It's my final show," before she swung her phone around to co-host Mike Toolan, who had his hands in the air shouting "yaaaaaay".

The co-stars then started shouting dramatically "don't go, Gemma, don't go," as they feigned crying.

In the next post, Mike could be seen approaching a cardboard cutout of Gemma, as she joked: "Got Toolan a leaving present for when I go."

Mike then said: "This is what she's bought me," before Gemma said: "It's for you to keep in the studio. And producer Matt, so you can both…" before Mike said: "It just makes the pain more real."

He then said: "What am I supposed to do with it?" as Gemma suggestively, and jokingly, said: "Well… I'd rather not know, Tools," as they burst into laughter.

Gemma recently revealed that she was not finding out the due date of her second baby, although she did reveal that it is roughly around the end of June to the beginning of July.
