Thrilled Gemma Collins has spoken of her relief after dad Alan left hospital following a month-long battle with Covid-19.

It means the TOWIE star can enjoy her 40th birthday properly as she makes plans for Sunday's celebration.

Gemma has ordered herself a massive cake and plans to have a sugar overload now she has another reason to raise a glass.

Alan, 73, is out of trouble – weeks after saying he would 'rather die' than be as ill as he was.

The GC told fans her family were preparing for the worst after her father was rushed to hospital in December.

"That's not going to happen but it doesn’t matter because my dad has survived Covid.

"It through my family and it was so heartbreaking. It was so heartbreaking to see my dad fighting for his life."

Gemma turns 40 on Sunday and while the party is on hold she told her fans she is planning to fill her face.

The hungry star said: "I've ordered myself a huge cake!
