Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson celebrates husband’s 40th with their adorable twins

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson looked dapper as he stepped out with his actor husband, Carl Hyland, and their twins.

The sweet family were dressed to impress as they hit up the Raddison Hotel in Manchester to celebrate Carl's 40th birthday with pals.

Carl and Kieron, 37, who's best-known for playing Ste Hay on Hollyoaks, donned matching suits for the big night, sporting cream blazers, white shirts and dark green patterned ties.

Their five year old twins, Chase and Phoebe Ray looked suitably adorable, with Chase in a little tux, while Phoebe donned a floral dress and carried a handbag.

The couple welcomed their twins five years ago via surrogate, two years after they tied the knot at The Devonshire Dome, Buxton.

Kieron recently gushed about the joys of fatherhood, as he said told the Sunday People: "This is our fifth Father's Day now and every year it just gets more magical.

"It's about appreciating your parent and being thankful for everything that they do. Every day is a Father's Day for us as it's something we thought was unachievable.

"I'm so grateful we have these two amazing kids in our lives and we can just give them the best upbringing that we could ever think."

Kieran came out as gay during a live appearance on This Morning 12 years ago as he spoke to host Phillip Schofield on the show's sofa.

Kieran made reference to his character, Ste, who fell in love with Hollyoaks bad boy, Brendan Brady, as he came out to Phillip.

The host said to him: "Of course, this is on the telly and this is part of a character, but there are elements here that are in actual fact quite close to your life yourself. And what would they be?"

Kieron then revealed: "The fact that I am gay in real life and at 20 years old I have kind of accepted it myself. Now I can finally relate to my character Ste, that he's 20 and he's going through things that I went through in my past."

Phillip then said: "The people that know you will know that this is no great surprise there, because your friends know, your work colleagues know, you've had the conversation with your parents, but you've never actually said it out loud."

Kieron had been asked by ITV bosses if he would like to come out on Dancing On Ice earlier that year, however, he declined, saying he didn't want it to overshadow his efforts on the ice.

He made the decision later that year when his character, Ste, fell for Brendan.
