John Legend Speaks Out Against R. Kelly in New Lifetime Documentary

John Legend is one of the few stars speaking out against R. Kelly.

In the new 6-part docu-series Surviving R. Kelly that premieres on Thursday (January 3) on Lifetime, the 40-year-old EGOT-winner joins the 51-year-old rapper’s family members, former friends and colleagues, and women who have been claiming for decades that R. Kelly used his power and influence to sexually and physically abuse women and young girls.

“R. Kelly has brought so much pain to so many people,” John says in an interview. “Time’s up for R. Kelly.”

The docu-series follows the sexual assault claims against R. Kelly that include engaging in sex acts with underage girls, holding women against their will, and preying on other women.

Also featured in brief appearances include Wendy Williams, #MeToo movement Tarana Burke, Charlamagne Tha God, and Chance the Rapper – who voices regret for working with Kelly amid the recent sexual abuse allegations.

Surviving R. Kelly
airs on Lifetime at 9 p.m. ET from Thursday, Jan. 3 to Saturday, Jan. 5.
