Kate Ferdinand opens up about Cree’s first birthday plans and prepares for ‘relaxing’ Christmas
Kate Ferdinand has opened up on how she spent her and husband Rio's son Cree's first birthday, and how their family will be spending Christmas.
The 30 year old welcomed her first child with father-of-four Rio, 43, last December, with him hitting the milestone age last week.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, Kate said of the celebrations: "We had a little party with some of his friends, which was lovely."
And his birthday came in the midst of another milestone for the tot, with the former The Only Way Is Essex star saying: "He's started walking, so that's a really big thing."
Kate and Rio – who is also dad to sons Lorenz, 15, Tate, 13, and daughter Tia, 10, with late wife Rebecca Ellison – are now looking forward to a relaxing Christmas at home after their whirlwind year.
She said: "We'll be at home, probably relaxing in our pyjamas! We may have some parents over.
"To be honest, we haven't sorted it but people will probably pop in and out – if Boris [Johnson] allows us to! It's hard to make plans, we're going to play it by ear."
But, she will be feeling a lot better than she did last year, giving birth just days before Christmas.
"Last year I was in a bit of pain and I wasn't fully mobile. So this year, I can be up singing my Christmas songs.
"Cree is walking now, so I'm sure he'll be terrorising us and trying to get all the presents open, so I'll be on the move a bit this year.
"I still try to dress the big kids up, but they’re not happy about it because they're teenagers!
"They think, 'Gosh, do we have to put on these pyjamas.' But I think it's nice. It's the memories, isn't it?
"So yeah, it's nice to all wear our matching pyjamas. I love it and Tia loves it – I'm not sure the others do!"
