Kerry Katona admits she was a bad wife who took drugs
Celebs Go Dating favourite Kerry Katona has candidly opened up on her failed marriages to Brian McFadden, Mark Croft and George Kay.
The mum-of-four, who used to sing in girlband Atomic Kitten, laid her feelings bare as she reflected on her battle with addiction and how it affected her former relationships while appearing on the Ray D’Arcy Show.
She emotionally said: "For such a long time other peoples opinions was everything to me because I was so desperate to be loved. I felt so worthless.
"I was always rejected, I was an only child, I could go on and on.
"I blamed the world, I was a victim it was my mum’s fault for my upbringing, Brian left me, it was Max it was George.
"I probably wasn’t the greatest of wives. No-one made me take drugs, [but] you know the circumstances didn’t help."
Offering some words of advice to viewers, she went on: "Until you actually start to take some responsibility for it and start to accept it and stop living in the past and live in now, the moment today, and be really mindful of where you are and embrace it…thats the only way you can move on".
After making the bold speech, Kerry was given a standing ovation by show host, Ray.
Kerry’s honest interview comes as she recently admitted to The Mirror that she knew her history of addiction would always follow her.
However, she added: “I’ve accepted that part of my life, I’ll hold my hands up. You have to accept responsibility because you can’t move on otherwise. But I’m more than that and I will prove it to everyone.”
Kerry is on the new series of Celebs Go Dating on E4 but is determined not to repeat her mistakes with men.
