‘Love Actually’ star posts throwback pic just in time for Christmas
Martine McCutcheon has delighted fans with a throwback photo of herself with her “Love Actually” co-star, Hugh Grant.
The former star of UK show “EastEnders” took to her Instagram page to share a snap from the French premiere of the 2003 film.
In the black and white picture, Martine, 42, is smiling at the camera while Hugh, 58, is gazing at her adoringly with a slight smirk on his face.
The star captioned the photo: “Me and Hugh at the French premiere of ‘Love Actually’… We were staying at the Ritz and we were treated like royalty – even our dressing gowns and slippers had our names beautifully embroidered on them.
“The cast had a wonderful dinner in Paris after the film was shown and we all talked and laughed into the wee small hours… I felt like I was living in a fairytale.”
Martine’s followers quickly flocked to the comment section of the post to share their love for the throwback.
One wrote: “One of my all time favorite films. You look like film star too, absolutely stunning, no wonder Hugh can’t take his eye’s off you.”
A second added: “That sounds just so magical, what memories!”
A fan said: “Beautiful photo. Look at him admiring you.”
And another speculated: “The way Hugh is gazing at you in this photo, I’d say he had a little crush on you when you made that film!!! Best film and loved your character!!!”
Martine and Hugh played love interests in the popular Christmas film, with Hugh playing the newly elected British prime minister, David, who falls in love with a junior staffer, Natalie, played by the brunette beauty.
In 2016, Martine confessed that she had a crush on her co-star at the time of filming.
She said at the time: “I love my Hugh. He could be 10 stone bigger than that and I still wouldn’t kick him out of bed. I think he looks absolutely amazing.”
“He was genuinely such a lovely man, grumpy in the morning until he had his cup of tea and then he is absolutely fabulous!”
“He made me feel so comfortable because the whole time with Love Actually I couldn’t believe I was there with these massive stars and he made me feel like I belonged.”
Last year, the “Love Actually” cast reunited with director Richard Curtis for a Comic Relief special – creating a short sequel to update fans on what the much-loved characters are now up to.
Martine’s Natalie was still happily in a relationship with David, who had recently regained his position as Prime Minister.
