Meghan McCain slams Gwyneth Paltrow's 'starvation diet' and appearance, plus more news
Meghan McCain says Gwyneth Paltrow ‘looks bad, tired, haggard and much older than her 50 years’
Meghan McCain has some thoughts on Gwyneth Paltrow’s recent diet revelations … none of them good. In her Daily Mail column on Friday (March 17), the former “View” co-host ripped into the “wacky, elitist commentary about food” Gwyneth shared in a recent appearance on Dr. Will Cole’s “Art of Being Well” podcast. On the show, Gwyneth detailed her paleo-focused daily meal plan (and reliance on “intermittent fasting”), which according to Meghan includes coffee and celery juice in the morning, “green soup” or bone broth for lunch and a paleo dinner of veggies with fish or “birds.”
“Nothing about her day sounds nourishing or fulfilling,” writes Meghan, who also recaps the other wellness regimens Gwyneth discussed using, like infrared sauna sessions, dry brushing, IV-injected vitamins and grueling workouts. “The laser focus on ‘wellness’ seems obsessive and, quite frankly, unwell … She’s a businesswoman selling pseudo-science and starvation diets to American women,” Meghan continues. From there, she argues the Goop.com founder’s decision to “broadcast” her “starvation diet” and controversial wellness lifestyle, much of which is not backed by solid medicine, is dangerous at a time when “there is a growing awareness of eating disorders in American culture.” Finally, Meghan gets personal: “If you watch the video of this, Gwyneth looks …. bad, tired, haggard, and much older than her 50 years,” she writes. “I rarely speak about other women’s appearances,” Meghan adds, “but since she’s putting herself out there, let’s talk about it.”

Tyra Banks exits ‘Dancing With the Stars’ after three rocky seasons
Tyra Banks’ “Dancing With the Stars” tenure is coming to an end, just three seasons after she came on board as the show’s host, Variety confirmed on Friday (March 17). “I think it’s time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor … from the ballroom to the boardroom,” she told TMZ this week, explaining that the hosting gig interferes with her ability to “fully focus on her” on her business ventures. “I’m an entrepreneur at heart … I think my heart, my soul, is into my business, it’s also into producing new TV.” Tyra’s “Dancing” stint has been rocky from the start. She replaced longtime hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews in 2020 after they were axed, apparently with little no warning. Once she took the helm, her on-air mistakes often garnered criticism from fans and critics, as didmany of her over-the-top outfits, which some fans found distracting. It didn’t help matters when, in 2022, she blamed the show’s “team” after she incorrectly stated which contestants were in the lead, info that was clearly spelled out on the leaderboard. Her exit comes after news dance pros Mark Ballas and Cheryl Burke, as well as judge Len Goodman, won’t return for Season 32.
Taylor Swift’s fans see a sweet message for Joe Alwyn in her new song
Taylor Swift released four new songs at midnight on Friday (March 17), and her fans are already in a collective state of swoon over one track, in particular. That would be “All of the Girls You Loved Before,” a love song Swifties believe was inspired by Taylor’s boyfriend, Joe Alwyn. As multiple fans have noted on Twitter, the lyric, “Your past and mine are parallel lines / Stars all aligned and they intertwined,” echoes lyrics from “Mastermind,” a track the singer has previously acknowledged was written about her actor beau, according to E! News. (“Once upon a time, the planets and the fates / And all the stars aligned,” she sings on the tune from her midnights” album, “… You and I ended up in the same room / At the same time.”) Elsewhere on the new love song, Taylor gushes about the lover in question calling her “baby,” as she does on another previously released tune Joe inspired, “King of My Heart.” The new song’s chorus, meanwhile, left lots of fans overwhelmed with emotion about its underlying message. “All of the girls you loved before / Made you the one I’ve fallen for,” the star sings. “Every dead-end street led you straight to me / Now you’re all I need, I’m so thankful for all of the girls you loved before.”
As one Swiftie gushed on Twitter: “‘All Of The Girls You Loved Before’ is about the one and only person she loves: a boy named Joe Alwyn. The meaning of this song is so special, Taylor is so grateful to have found a man like Joe that she’s grateful for everyone that made him him how pure is that???”

Sharon Stone says she lost half her money after Silicon Valley Bank, Credit Suisse failures
While accepting the the Women’s Cancer Research Fund’s Courage Award in Los Angeles on Thursday (March 16), Sharon Stone alternately broke down in tears and had the crowd bursting out in laughter as she urged them to donate money to the important cause. She also said she recently suffered a serious financial loss herself, presumably in the current banking crisis. “I know that thing that you have to get on and figure out how to text the money is difficult,” she joked at one point, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “I’m a technical idiot, but I can write a f****** check. And right now, that’s courage, too, because I know what’s happening. I just lost half my money to this banking thing, and that doesn’t mean that I’m not here.”
Earlier in her speech, she urged women not to skip their mammograms, recalling how she once had a massive tumor removed from her breast and recovered so well, movie audiences didn’t notice when she later filmed scenes without her top. “You’ve all seen ’em since the surgery and you don’t even know it,” she joked. “So don’t ever feel compelled not to get a mammogram, not to get a blood test, not to get surgery because it doesn’t matter.”

Oprah Winfrey shares coronation advice for Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan
With King Charles III’s coronation just around the corner in May, royal watchers have been buzzing about whether Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan will attend, given their openly strained relationship with the royal family. Now, Oprah Winfrey is weighing in on whether she thinks they should make the trip from California to England to support Harry’s dad. Oprah — whose 2021 interview with the Sussexes revealed bombshells about alleged racism among the royals and more — stopped by “CBS Mornings” this week to promote her new book club pick in a chat with Gayle King. But the conversation soon turned to Charles’ upcoming coronation, as Gayle cited reports claiming Harry and Meghan were invited to the ceremony, asking Oprah, “Do you think they should go?”
“I think they should do what they feel is best for them and their family, that’s what I think,” Oprah replied, according to Vanity Fair. “That’s what the bottom line comes down to. What do you feel like is the right thing for you?” She went on to note she has not spoken to her pals Harry and Meghan about the coronation, nor have “asked” for her thoughts on the matter. The coronation of King Charles and his wife, Camilla, is slated to be held at Westminster Abbey on May 6.
