MIC’s Ollie and Gareth’s twin babies spent weeks in intensive care after birth

Ollie Locke and husband Gareth Locke have shared the emotional details of the birth of their twin babies, shedding light on the challenges they faced. The beloved couple, known for their appearances on the popular reality show Made In Chelsea, introduced the world to their son Apollo and daughter Cosima, who were brought into the world via surrogate Rebecca 'Bex' Ward.

With a brand-new YouTube channel named "Our Daddy Diaries," the reality stars are keeping their followers updated on their parenting journey. The latest episode, teased on their Instagram, opened up about the babies' birth and their subsequent stay in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Despite announcing the twin’s arrival last week, the babies were actually born six weeks before, and their initial days were spent in the neonatal intensive care unit. During what Ollie, 36, described as a "scary time," he candidly shared: "The babies were actually born six weeks ago. It has been a scary time. They have been in neonatal intensive care for quite a long time. They’re all perfect and really doing well and now they’re home."

Gareth Locke added an explanation for their decision to keep the news private until their children were safely home, stating: "It was something that we just didn’t want to share until we had them safe back home with us and all part of the family."

The couple, now adjusting to the roles of new parents, shared snippets of their journey, from learning to change diapers to introducing their children to their beloved pets. The twins, named Apollo Magnus Obi and Cosima Emily Bex, have been thriving since their challenging start. Apollo weighed 3lb 10oz, while Cosima was 2lb 11oz.

The new dads journey to parenthood was not without its share of struggles. Earlier this year, the news broke that their chosen surrogate had successfully conceived after several failed IVF attempts. The news was met with overwhelming joy and relief by their fans.

Their close-knit circle of friends and colleagues also shared in their happiness. Ollie Locke's co-star Sophie Hermann was asked to be the godmother to baby Cosima and penned on Instagram: “I can’t believe the day is finally here! So so proud to be Cosima Emily Bex Locke-Locke’s godmother and completely elated to see her and her brother Apollo healthy, happy and thriving!

“My beloved boys @ollielockeworld @garethplocke you are already the best daddies in the world and no one deserves this more than you!I love you all so much!”

Alongside Sophie, co-star Olivia Bentley also shares the honour of being a godmother to baby Apollo, also sharing a post on Instagram with the caption: “Welcome to the world my beautiful godson Apollo Magnus Obi Locke-Locke and little Cosima, you are just wonderful and I can’t wait to watch you grow up and go on a million adventures with you. Congratulations @ollielockeworld and @garethplocke Xx”
