News anchor Simon McCoy separates from wife after her 18 month affair with boss
A ‘scandalous’ affair between television presenter Victoria Graham and her BBC boss, Jon Gripton, has seen her separate from husband Simon McCoy, an established news anchor for the BBC.
The passionate affair has caused such a stir among their colleagues in the BBC, Gripton has moved to another post as the heat becomes too much.
Simon, 57, is a former royal correspondent while his wife Victoria, is a presenter on Spotlight news programme in the West Country.
MailOnline has reported that Simon gave Victoria, 44, his "very best wishes for her future," as their marriage came to an end.
The pair had met at a polo match in Windsor and they married in 2007. Victoria then quit her BBC role in the south west, to join Simon in London.
After enduring years of fertility treatment, without success, Victoria returned to her roots in 2015, when she went back to Plymouth to present the Spotlight news programme.
She has apparently appeared on screen without her wedding ring for some time now after she embarked on a passionate 18-month affair with Spotlight editor, 52-year-old Gripton.
He left his role in the West in September to take up a position as senior news editor in the BBC, after the affair caused "much disquiet" among their work colleagues.
The break up of their marriage has been described as, "an incredibly sad time," by Victoria, who also told MailOnline that, "life changes."
Victoria revealed that she is still, "tremendously proud,"of Simon’s career and that they, "remain very good friends," and that they still have, "two beautiful border terriers to love between us."
