Piers Morgan firmly stood his ground after a Twitter user shared a montage of photos showing the breakfast TV presenter surrounded by disgraced celebrities. The 55-year-old acclaimed journalist claimed it is “hard to know” who to avoid when “cameras click” as he defended his actions.
So I know who to avoid when the cameras click?
The original tweet to Piers from the Twitter user read: “I always find it odd how people can be around these sex perverts, and ‘know nothing’.
“Even if just a strong suspicion, a reasonable person wouldn’t associate themselves.”
The GMB host fired back: “You’re so right, Steve. Given your pervert detector levels are so much better than mine, & you’re such a reasonable person, would you mind coming with me when I meet anyone famous going forward so I know who to avoid when the cameras click?”(sic)
The heated exchange prompted Twitter users to weigh in on the subject.

One wrote: “Piers is a lot of things but he’s a man of high morales and would of blown there crimes wide open.”(sic)
Another replied: “Exactly, I said this morning, how can you know when your photographed with someone what their character is? Ridiculous that anyone can criticise you for a photo taken, if they do, they’re stupid. Just keep doing what you’re doing please.. you’re brilliant and doing great stuff.”(sic)
Another replied: “Imagine how many people Piers has met; especially in his line of work. This is 5 people – all photos taken well before any allegations arose let alone any actual conviction. Give him a break.”
The now-viral photo of Piers with Ghislaine Maxwell comes as the latter was charged in the US yesterday following her arrest.
Authorities accuse her of assisting the now-deceased billionaire, Jeffrey Epstein, of abusing dozens of underage girls.
After initially being arrested in New Hampshire, Ghislaine was brought to court and remanded for custody, for transfer to New York.
The daughter of former Daily Mirror owner Robert Maxwell has denied any involvement or knowledge of her ex-boyfriend Jefferey’s alleged sexual misconduct.
In a separate photo included in the shared Twitter montage, Piers can be seen alongside Hollywood movie producer Harvey Weinstein.

Piers Morgan savages Boris Johnson’s ‘excruciating’ LBC interview [LATEST]
Back in 2018, in a GQ article, Piers revealed he had spoken to Harvey while he was at a clinic in Arizona.
He divulged: “I’ve spoken to Harvey in the clinic in Arizona, for about an hour.”
“He’s fighting. He’s a fascinating character. The apocalyptic symptom of the whole thing – the casting couch finally brought to judgement. I can’t express the same level of shock as some people in Hollywood.
“Listen, this has been the system since Hollywood existed. It’s been a moral cesspit since the Twenties and the idea that Harvey Weinstein is the only villain? Do me a favour.”

On February, 24, 2020 Harvey was found guilty of two of five felonies against him and is now serving his sentence at Wende Correctional Facility.
Earlier this year when sent the same montage of photographs, Piers responded: “To all those kindly sending me this unedifying photo montage……yes, I definitely need to work on my clairvoyant skills.”
Also in the collection of photos shared was Gary Glitter, Rolf Harris and Max Clifford.
Gary is currently serving a prison sentence after being convicted for attempted rape, indecent assault and sex with a child under 13.
Rolf and Max were convicted as a result of Operation Yewtree that investigated high profile sex offenders following the Jimmy Saville scandal.
