Strictly Come Dancing’s Giovanni Pernice exclusively addresses Alexandra Burke romance rumours

Giovanni Pernice has broken his silence on rumours he is dating Alexandra Burke in an exclusive interview with OK! online.

The 30 year old and Alexandra, 32, sparked speculation that they are dating last week after they gushed over each other in sweet social media posts.

Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni uploaded an image of himself kissing Alexandra on the cheek to his 434,000 Instagram followers, captioning it: "Miss you!!!" alongside a red love heart emoji.

The X Factor winner Alexandra then reposted the cute snap to her own 214,000 followers, writing: "I miss you more baby!!," tagging the hunk.

But speaking exclusively to OK! online, Giovanni has now debunked the rumours, insisting that he and the Hallelujah hitmaker are nothing more than friends.

He said: "Me and Alexandra are super friends for like four years. She did Strictly and we've been friends since then, we also have the same agent.

"That's it. We are really, really good friends. I'm a massive fan of Alexandra, I am beyond a fan of her voice, but there is nothing there."

Discussing his romantic side ahead of Valentine's Day, Giovanni added: "I think I am romantic, I've heard that I'm a romantic person, I've been told."

Giving his tips for how to make Valentine's Day special during lockdown, he continued: "There's not much you can really do.

"Maybe a nice dinner, some candles, Bocelli's music always works, Andrea Bocelli, and then Netflix… Netflix and chill."

The Italian dancer also spoke about his struggle at not being able to see his parents in Sicily during the current global pandemic.

He said: "It's the first thing I'm going to do when Boris [Johnson] says we're free, I'm going to see my mum and dad.

"They understand it's not possible and that we're in a global pandemic, and my priority is to keep them safe, so I wouldn't even risk a flight to Italy at the moment."
