Strictly’s Nadiya Bychkova opens up on ‘disappointment’ at no celebrity partner

Strictly Come Dancing pro dancer Nadiya Bychkova has addressed her failure to land a celebrity partner this year saying that she is “disappointed” and “excited” for this years show.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, after Saturday nights glitzy launch show the Ukrainian beauty opened up to her 23.1 thousand followers.
“I’m sure you’ll understand that I’m disappointed not to be partnered with a celebrity on Strictly this series,” she wrote.
“It is an amazing show to be a part of and I’m still so excited for all the group numbers, performing with some of our music acts and much much more.” (sic)
She then commented on her own post adding: “I’m also looking forward to supporting my fellow pros and I want to wish all the couples the best of luck for the competition this year.”

It appears that Nadiya isn’t the only one disappointed that she won’t be competing this year’s show and her fans quickly flocked to the comments to make their feelings known.
A user called @AndrewVulpes wrote: “I’m really disappointed – I love all the pros but you are unique and special, and since your magic partnership with @mrdanwalker I’ve really wanted you to have another great series and maybe even lift the glitterball trophy… anyone would be lucky to get to dance with you! X” (sic)
@girlsluvfooty2 chimed in: “Soooo sad & shocked you have not been given a partner this series you give so much of your immense talent. Keep smiling it really will nor be the same without your sparkling personality.” (sic)
A fan calling themselves @joyceJo49834475 said: “Disappointed too Nadiya, couldn’t believe you didn’t get a partner. Will miss your fabulous choreography & routines.”
Meanwhile @jasontinney_ offered a solution commenting: “Honestly…they should just get more celebrities and have more couples!! People would still watch for that long!”

Nadiya has been part of the BBC show since 2017 and has danced with a range of male celebrities such as Dan Walker, Lee Ryan and Matt Goss. On hearing that she wouldn’t have a celebrity pairing this year Channel 5 newsreader Dan leapt to her defence saying it was “like putting Messi on the bench for the World Cup final”.
Taking to Instagram he told his 291,000 followers: “Strictly is such an amazing show and it’s almost time for the new series… what a great line-up this year.
“All the pros are great but gutted to hear that @nadiyabychkova hasn’t got a partner. I’m sure she’s still looking forward to being part of the biggest show on TV but it feels a bit like putting Messi on the bench for the World Cup final!”
He went on: “She is so talented, the best teacher anyone could hope for, a top class lobster and… she’s the Yorkshire Barmaid!
Nadiya replied: “You are right partner. I am looking forward to it,” followed by a lobster emoji.
