The Palace Will Reportedly Announce When Meghan Markle Is in Labor

Back in January, a pregnant Meghan Markle reportedly told well-wishers in Birkenhead, England that she’s expecting her first child with Prince Harry in late April. However, late April came and went without any Sussex baby news. Luckily, there were also reports that Meghan would be due in early May, so the wait for a royal baby continues as the new month begins. But amidst the anticipation, some royal watchers wondered: Has Meghan already given birth and just not told the public?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex did announce that they’re keeping their birth plans private, and Meghan has kept fairly out of the spotlight in recent weeks, but that doesn’t quite mean they’re hiding their new baby from the world. People previously reported that Buckingham Palace will announce when Meghan is in labor, so we won’t be completely in the dark about the little one’s arrival.

And although the mom-to-be is expected to skip the post-birth photoshoot outside of the hospital, she and Harry will still share the news of Baby Sussex’s arrival after they’ve been able to celebrate quietly as a family. However, People adds that the Harry and Meghan will pose with their new baby for a photo op on the grounds of Windsor Castle days after Baby Sussex is born.

News that Harry is traveling to the Netherlands next week further fueled speculation that Baby Sussex is already here, but royal reporters promptly shut down those rumors on social media. ITV‘s royal editor, Chris Ship, clarified on Twitter that there is no news blackout and that the birth “is NOT being kept secret.” Rebecca English, Daily Mail‘s royal correspondent, added, “#BabySussex isn’t secretly here, I’m assured.”

We’ll keep waiting patiently for Baby Sussex’s arrival.
