LeAnn Rimes is celebrating faith with a new tattoo, but not everyone is a true believer.
The singer, 36, who rose to stardom in her early teens, drew online support but also some pushback after an Instagram posting that showed her getting a new, small tattoo: “god’s work.”
Objections focused on the fact the “g” in “god’s” is lowercase. “Why didn’t you capitalize the G in Gods work?…g is totally wrong,” m r borromeo responded.
markfreitasart, identified on Instagram as a custom tattooer, focused more on Rimes’ tattoo artist: “I’m actually surprised that the Tattooer didn’t recommend a capital G”
disneyfamily67 liked the message, but quibbled with the presentation: “I luv it but God is GOD! God should have a capital G”

sstockelman took a middle approach: “God should be capitalized. ? Still beautiful”
But many came to Rimes’ support: “It’s a cute tattoo. Leave her alone, and It doesn’t matter if it’s lower case. You still understand what it says,” wrote runic ingis.
Others advised Rimes to ignore the critics. “Forget the haters @leannrimes and just keep doing/being you.”
dietcherrycoke_23 took on Rimes’ critics: “Don’t you complainers have anything else to do? Something important? It’s HER body and HER tattoo. Leave LeAnn alone.”
Others simply praised the singer and the tattoo art.
Rimes didn’t directly respond to the criticism, but she replied with a black heart to citygenesis, who posted: “Remember everyone’s journey is different. If you’re a believer like me, remember how you went from doubt, to belief, to faith. Remember everyone’s belief system is not like yours. Btw, I’m sure LeAnn knows the difference between God & god and she wrote it exactly how she wanted to, in how it’s meaningful to her.”
