X Factor singer David Heath has announced the happy news that he's welcomed his first child.

The 37 year old star, who achieved success in boyband Eton Road during his time on the ITV reality show competition, now shares a baby son with his partner of 17 years, Samuel Paul.

The couple welcomed their little boy via a surrogate, and have also announced an unusual name choice, as they have decided to call their adorable tot Jude.

"Jude Arblaster Heath," the duo posted on their joint Instagram page, alongside a sweet black and white video.

"Our miracle entered the world on 23.07.23 weighing 7.6lbs. You're everything and more we could have dreamed of," the caption finished.

In the reel, fans caught a glimpse of the teeny baby boy sleeping soundly in his Moses basket, alongside a sweet personalised dummy with his name on.

David and Samuel also showed off their matching rings as they unveiled their gorgeous little bundle of joy with close-ups of their hands.

The two men also revealed aspects of their long journey to become fathers with a series of surrogacy-themed hashtags, which included "double dad", "IVF dads", "surrogacy journey" and "gestational surrogacy".

Fans flocked to the comments to share their well-wishes for the couple's happy news.

One person congratulated them saying: "Massive massive congratulations to you all so pleased he here safe and well now let the fun times begin."

"Welcome to the world baby Jude you are so treasured already and have the best life ahead of you. can’t wait to hold you x," another person gushed.

One of David or Samuel's parents also commented "our beautiful first grandson," while another follower posted: "Awww this has made me smile congratulations to you both … xxxxx"

"Omg boys I’m so happy for you both wonderful news absolutely gorgeous and fabulous well done to Sarah xxx," another fan added.

Only a few weeks ago, David, who is now a dance school teacher, and his partner shared their excitement for "baby month" as they told fans they could barely contain themselves knowing baby Heath was arriving so soon.

The pair also admitted their impending arrival had become "very real" and they were worried about getting their house renovation completed along with a deep clean.

Despite that, the couple were thrilled to be starting the next journey, as they told their followers: "July is going to be the best month for the rest of our lives xx."

David sang in four-piece group Eton Road alongside Danny Morris, Jay Edwards and Anthony Hannah in 2006, and the boys were all mentored by former Boyzone manager Louis Walsh.

The group were sadly eliminated from the competition in week seven, after they lost the sing-off against Ben Mills.
