A$AP Rocky Appointed First-Ever Guest Artistic Director of Pacsun
A$AP Rocky has been appointed the first-ever guest artistic director of Pacsun, the company announced on Thursday.
According to the terms of the label’s partnership with Rocky’s A$AP Worldwide, the chart-topping performer and style trailblazer will oversee designer collaborations, brand campaigns and in-store activations to support launches in both the brand’s DTLA and Soho storefronts.
“This partnership is special to me because it’s a collaboration that combines my roots, A$AP Worldwide, and some of the most respected heritage brands that have roots in both the sportswear and lifestyle worlds,” said Rocky in a statement. “Together with Pacsun, we will be releasing several limited-edition collections that are both nostalgic and forward at the same time.”
For the collaboration’s opening act, Rocky and Pacsun will enlist Vans for a capsule of three “Old Skool” styles in black canvas, white leather and silver reflective colorways.
“Our community of customers is looking for something unexpected, that elevates their daily experience and lets them express their personal style,” said Alfred Chang, co-CEO Pacsun. “Nobody bridges the gap between high fashion and streetwear like A$AP Rocky.”
Brie Olson, president of Pacsun, added that collaborating with Rocky over the last 18 months has been an “inspiring” experience for the brand at-large.
“The design process working with Rocky has really allowed the Pacsun brand, which has always been built on youth culture, to connect design innovation with what is happening from a cultural perspective and translate that into coveted unique product offerings and design collaborations for our consumer,” she said.
