Dame Helen Mirren taking no chances as she wears goggles and mask on flight

Dame Helen Mirren proved she’s all about safety as she donned a protective face mask and safety goggles on a flight.

The 74-year-old posed in PPE while sitting on board the plane, in a selfie she shared on Instagram on Sunday.

The Queen actress finished off her look with a white knitted sweater and an LA Dodgers baseball cap.

She seemed to be feeling herself as she jokily captioned the shot: ‘It’s a look!’

Helen’s followers were all for her safety precautions, with one writing: ‘Oh thank God, someone besides me wearing goggles and wearing them correctly over the mask, also worn correctly. Full marks.’

Another fan added: ‘A great look! Everyone should be copying it.’

Last month, Helen told nurses they are all ‘worth it’ in a heartfelt Instagram clip to celebrate International Nurses’ Day.

The acting legend said: ‘Today is International Nurses’ Day. I work for L’Oreal which has the famous slogan, ”Because you’re worth it”.

‘Well today of all days we can say with our hands on our hearts, to the nurses, you are worth it.

‘Thank you for everything you have done, for your courage and for everything you will be doing.’

Helen added: ‘In the future, when you come to negotiate your pay rises, you can say, all together, very loudly, “because we are worth it”.’

The Calendar Girls actress – who recently called for help for UK theatres – has been keeping fans updated on what’s keeping her sane in lockdown.

This includes two unlikely household items – a bird feeder and, errr, a vacuum cleaner.

Sharing snaps of both, she wrote: ‘One of my favourite things in quarantine was… 1. the bird feeder.

‘2. the Dyson rechargeable vacuum.’

Helen, we hereby rename you: the humble queen of Hollywood.
