LĒO FW21 Promises Dramatically-Dyed Dual-Purpose Apparel
A favorite of celebrities like Bella Hadid, Grimes and Kendall Jenner, LĒO was the brainchild of founder Matthias Medaer and artistic director Leonneke Derksen, the latter of whom interned for Balenciaga after graduating from Antwerp’s legendary Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Based in Belgium, the label’s luxurious, fashion-forward ideology is developed further for Fall/Winter 2021, “HYBRID,” promising multi-purpose goods suited for a plethora of intents.
Nearly every one of LĒO’s FW21 designs is capable of being worn in multiple ways, from a massive belt that serves as a chest wrap to form-fitting shirts printed with fake tattoos, finished with collapsible necklines that can be worn over one’s mouth. Adjustable straps, toggles and drawstrings encourage customizable fits tailored to the wearer’s needs, complementing the evolutionary ideology proposed by the animal prints crop up throughout the collection in both bold application and tonal print. Elsewhere, bold high-contrast dyes deliver an aggro spin on recent tie-dye affectations and trippy graphics take psychedelic trends to the extreme.
