Orlando's Super Nintendo World Theme Park Delayed Until 2025
Nintendo fans will have to wait a little longer before they can visit Orlando’s Super Nintendo World. Due to pandemic-related delays, Universal Studios‘ Epic Universe park, which is set to develop its own Nintendo-themed attraction will be unable to hit its original 2023 opening date.
In a recent statement to the Orlando Sentinel, Orange County Mayor Jerry Demings confirmed that Universal has informed the county that the park is set to open in early 2025 instead.
Shortly after the announcement, Epic Universe released their own update, stating that work will “begin immediately” but have also noted that it will still take “several months” before the project can be re-staffed and to scale.
The site for Epic Universe is expected to span across 750-acres and features a variety of theme parks, entertainment centers, shops, restaurants and hotels. Super Nintendo World attractions are a part of the park, but it is unsure whether it will open at the same time as the rest of the park.
The first Super Nintendo World in Osaka, Japan was also delayed due to pandemic-related issues. The park was originally expected to open in February 2021.
It still remains to be seen whether or not Orlando’s Super Nintendo World can open by 2025.
In case you missed it, the world’s first luxury space hotel is slated to open in 2027.
