Robbie Williams teases his own talent show that's 'never been seen before'

Robbie Williams may have had a quick stint as a judge on The X Factor back in 2018, but he’s now planning his own talent show it seems.

Not only that, but the Take That singer has also got a comedy series in the pipeline.

‘I’ve written a TV show which is a dark comedy,’ he revealed.

The Angels singer added to The Mirror: ‘And I’ve come up with this idea for a talent show that’s sort of never been seen before, in a different way.’

Robbie and his wife Ayda Field joined Simon Cowell on The X Factor for one series in 2018 before stepping down.

At the time, they told fans: ‘A quick update from Team Williams… it’s been a very busy year so far and Vegas has been incredible – we cannot wait for June and July to do it all again.

‘We’ve got some very big announcements coming soon – but we can’t reveal all yet. Sadly as it’s impossible to do everything, we’re gutted to tell you we won’t be able to return to The X Factor this year.’

They continued: ‘We will, however, be working on projects with Simon going forward – and as huge fans of the show, we will still be tuning into The X Factor, voting and winding Simon up!’

However, at the time, Simon admitted he didn’t think Robbie would even make it through the auditions without quitting.

‘I always had that worry which is, you know, after three hours he might just go, “I’ve had enough,”’ he told The Sun at the time.

‘But I would say almost every day we would finish and then he’d email me afterwards, “Loved today, best day of my life” blah, blah, blah.

‘It’s almost like he’s back in a group again if that makes sense.’

Robbie’s comments about his new TV ideas come after it was reported that Simon is ‘bringing back’ The X Factor five years since it last aired.

The annual talent series – which saw a number of rotating stars on the judging panel including Cheryl, Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, and Louis Walsh – was scrapped by ITV in July 2021.

At its peak, the programme delivered some iconic moments from Beyonce performing with Alexandra Burke, the birth of One Direction, and who can forget about Jedward.
