Woman mocked for awkward ‘mistake’ in meal snap reveals what really happened
Instagram is filled with pictures of delicious looking meals thanks to foodies sharing their breakfasts, lunches and dinner with their followers.
But one woman appeared to get caught out this week after she posted a picture of her ‘homemade’ Thai curry.
A pal saw the seemingly innocent snap on her Instagram story and spotted an interesting detail in the background – a ready meal package. Oops.
She posted a screengrab of the picture on Twitter with the caption "Instagram in a nutshell."
After the post was liked and shared hundreds of time, the woman involved has explained what was really going on.
Speaking to the Mirror, Mia Richardson, 20, says it was all just a joke and she can’t believe how much attention it’s had.
She said: "I was just literally in a funny mood and I don’t really know what my intentions were.
"I tend to be quite sarcastic on my stories and I don’t take myself too seriously.
"I thought it was a bit of a joke.
"I’m quite offended people think I’m that stupid."
Mia, a personal trainer from south east London, says the photo was posted by someone she knew years ago and doesn’t really speak to.
She said: "I saw it about ten minutes after it was posted and it had like 20 likes, and I checked the next day and it had about 500 likes.
“Luckily I can laugh at myself.
"I think there are a lot of people out there who might be put off by stuff like this.
"It shows how people you don’t even know can take picture and make something of it."
