The Miz has a plan in place in case anyone tried to ruin his WrestleMania moment.
The WWE’s resident A-Lister is hosting this weekend’s festivities, and he is ready for any eventuality after seeing Will Smith slap Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars after the comedian made a joke about the King Richard actor’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith.
Asked how he’d cope with a similar interruption, Miz mimed his signature Skull Crushing Finale finishing move and exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I’m gonna do this, this and this to anyone who tries to smack me in the ring.’
Jokes aside, the two-time Grand Slam champion is excited to be steering the ship for WWE on April 1 and 2, with a special feel in the air as WrestleMania finally arrives.
‘I love it. I love WreslteMania season, there’s nothing quite like it. This is our Super Bowl, our NBA Final, this is our World Series, this is our World Cup. This is what it’s all about,’ he smiled.
‘This is where it all accumulates to. All our hard work and dedication, all of our energy is put into WrestleMania.’
That ring true for Miz’s role as host too, as he’ll be turning up with the goal of getting the crowd invested and ready to stay strong for the entirety of the doubleheader.
‘Especially when you go in as a host, my job is to get everyone ready, and get them prepared and get everyone motivated and get the electricity started so the crowd has energy throughout the entire show,’ he said.
‘They’re long shows, and you’ve gotta have a lot of energy throughout the entire shows. Especially two nights going back to back – it’s a lot of energy, and a lot of fun, and a lot of excitement, and a lot of memories.’
Speaking of memories, The Miz beamed as he opened up about his and wife Maryse’s two daughters Monroe, five, and Madison, three, after taking them both to Disneyland.
‘Oh man, [being a father is] the best. I took my girls to Disneyland and I was like, this is crazy! Never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d have fun on Peter Pan or Little Mermaid,’ he said. ‘They’re small rides, they’re not thrill rides, they’re just… my kids thought they were the best rides ever!’
WrestleMania Goes Hollywood on April 1 and 2 from 1am. Tune in via the WWE Network.
