15 clever hacks from Argos to help you save money on Black Friday

Black Friday officially takes place this week.

If you’re looking to bag a bargain during the sale, Argos are spilling the beans on how shoppers can save some extra pennies and and avoid buyers regret.

A number of early Black Friday offers were revealed last Friday when the retailer kicked off its sale – all the latest deals can be found here at argos.co.uk.

Highlights so far include Sim-Free Sony Xperia XZ phones for £229.99 (was£449.99) and their lowest price LG 43 4K UHD HDR Smart TV for £329 – there are still plenty more deals set to go live over the coming days.

But before you rush off to spend your hard earned cash, read these hacks – plus we’ve found an extra way for everyone to save £15 on your Argos haul this Black Friday below too.

What are you waiting for? Get ready to save.

1. Have a stress-free Black Friday

Black Friday is the busiest day of the year for the Argos website.

You can opt for home delivery or in-store collection, eliminating the stress of the Black Friday high street rush. Items can be reserved for seven days, meaning you can avoid travelling to the store to collect your items until the Black Friday madness has quietened down.

Head to the Argos Black Friday 2018 page online for information ahead of the big day.

2. Save 10% off online

If you plan to do plenty of Argos Black Friday shopping online, join cashback site Quidco and claim up to 10% cashback until Sunday 25 November.

It’s simple to do – just sign up for free at Quidco.com. Head to Argos’ website from the Quidco link and make your purchase as normal.

You’ll receive your order as normal and Quidco will track your purchase and pay out your cashback into your member’s account.

3. You can buy lookalike items at a fraction of the price

Meghan Markle’s engagement ring cost a hefty six-figure sum (thought to be around £120,000), but Argos sells an almost identical version for just £14.99.

Similarly, you can bag a metal storage unit for £20 when similar pieces in designer shops cost more than £50.

Popular shell back chairs cost £129.99 at Argos, but similar versions can sell for three times the price in premium designer furniture stores.

4 . Look out for free £10 vouchers

Argos stores and the website regularly offer a voucher deal that gets you £10 off your next shop when you spend £100, and £5 off when you spend £50.

That means if you’re planning on buying two items worth £100 or more each, it’s worth buying in two separate transactions to get additional savings.

5. Pick up your Argos shop at Sainsbury’s

Sometimes if you’ve ordered something large, it’s not convenient to pick it up on the high street when you could be some distance from your car.

Helpfully, you can now get your Argos order delivered to more than 200 Argos stores inside Sainsbury’s supermarkets or more than 180 collection points in Sainsbury’s supermarkets and convenience stores across the country.

6. Jump the queue with Fast Track

Want to skip the queue when it’s busy? Argos lets you get in and out of the store quickly, regardless of whether there’s a huge line of people or not.

The trick is to order items with the Fast Track logo (and there are 20,000 of them) and pre-pay online on the website or app.

Once you’ve got a notification that your goods are ready to collect, you can head into the store, go to the dedicated Fast Track counter and quick as a flash, you’ll have them in your hands.

Best of all: there’s no charge as it’s completely free to pick up from Argos stores.

7. Free home delivery

You can get free standard home delivery on large kitchen appliances and delivery for furniture and other large items starts at just £6.95.

For an additional fee, you can get next-day delivery with a nominated time slot. Not only will they deliver the item, they’ll help you get the item into the room of your choice.

We can also install new kitchen appliances and / or remove and recycle your old appliance for an additional cost.

8. Simple Value

Kitting out a university bedroom, or just moved to a new home and need essential items at low cost?

The Argos Simple Value range has items to suit every budget, including a wall clock for £2.99 and a 10.5 tog duvet for £5.99.

9. Return your goods right there and then

You are allowed to view your item in the store before you buy it or after you’ve paid.

If it’s not exactly what you want, you’ll be able to return it and staff will assist you in finding something similar that better suits your needs.

10. Fast Track your way to savings

Argos’s same-day delivery service – Fast Track – has one flat fee of £3.95 regardless of where you live in the UK as it covers more than 90 per cent of UK postcodes.

It’s available seven days a week and is also the same price regardless of what day of the week you order – so no pricey weekend delivery premiums.

11. There’s a dedicated ‘spare parts’ section

There’s nothing more frustrating than losing your remote control, but Argos has a dedicated spare parts section on its website where you can get a new one.

You can also buy spare parts and cables for your gardening tools, oven, vacuum cleaner, power tools and more.

12. Collect your eBay packages in an Argos store

If you’re an eBay shopper who finds it inconvenient to wait at home for parcels, you can arrange to have the parcel delivered to your nearest Argos store.

You can select which store you’d like it delivered to when you check out, and you’ll receive an email confirmation code when it arrives.

13. Check out what everyone else is buying

The Argos website suggests a personalised selection of products you might like based on what you’ve previously been looking for, but scroll further down the page and you’ll see a list of the products trending on the website at the moment.

Often, they’re products with money off, or just simply good value, so they’re worth checking out.

14. Get your shopping at the last minute

Whether you need your Black Friday shopping instantly or you have left your Christmas shopping to the last minute, you can visit the Argos website and get your goods straightaway.

Even on Christmas eve, if you order before 1pm your goods will be delivered by 6pm that evening thanks to the Fast Track service.

15. WOW deals

When the new Argos catalogue launches in both January and July, look out for the WOW deals .

These are the best deals available across products such as vacuums, TV’s and washing machines.
