A Secret Sale With Birkenstocks, Best-Selling Vibrators, and Shapewear, Plus 10 Other Best Things to Shop This Weekend
Obviously, Halloween’s day job is for channeling spookiness and hoe-dom, but many don’t realize the occasion also moonlights as a serious shopping holiday. What better time to invest in temporary hair dye and fishnet tights? It’s surprisingly giving on the promotional front, too, with one of the best sales coming from one of our favorite lesser-known retailers, Luisa Via Roma (and, no, it’s not costumes on sale).
But even if you’ve reached your spooky-season capacity through social media posting or are burned at this year’s skipped trick-or-treating, there’s plenty of non-holiday-related shopping to be done. Below, shop the very best fashion and beauty launches, the top trending pieces, and, yes, some very good things on sale to buy this week.
If the only new launches you were looking out for this past week were Yandy’s extremely 2020 costumes, you missed some really great picks to add to your life year-round. Buzzy hair care brand Crown Affair finally launched on Madewell, and we’re excited to pick up its gorgeous, gentle-on-hair comb that’ll last us a lifetime.
We’re also really here for a classic re-released with a post-modern twist. Acne’s puffer jackets play up massive logo prints (while keeping us happily warm).
Beyoncé is also finally back with drop two (or rather, Drip 2) of her Ivy Park x Adidas line as of yesterday, and chances are it’ll sell out completely before end of day. Shop it now or forever hold your peace.
- Crown Affair The Comb No. 001, $36
- Acne Studios Logo-Print Puffer Jacket, Rust Orange, $1,200
- Ivy Park Drip 2 Three-Stripes Suit Jacket (Plus Size), $160
To the surprise of no one, sneakers are still the reigning shoe of 2020, a fact backed up by Afterpay, whose FW20 Global Fashion and Beauty Trend Report finds that the top retailer of the season is Finish Line. The merchant doesn’t have the scale or power of an Amazon or a Zappos, but it does have the advantage of a massive selection of athletic shoes that could be difficult to find elsewhere.
Emerging designer Marine Serre is not only seasonally appropriate, given her signature crescent moon designs. She’s also trending this week for different reasons: Lyst Index, which tracks shopper interest and social mentions, has added Serre to its list of top 10 brands for the first time ever and found that the brand’s Fitted Moon Print Top is the most popular women’s item of fall. We can thank Beyoncé and Adele’s twinning moment for that interest spike.
Lyst also reports that independent British brand House of Sunny’s Hockney Dress made the list after being famously worn by Kendall Jenner. It’s tough to find in stock anywhere, but we scouted one from Garmentory.
In other Kardashian news, while Kim made headlines for a tone-deaf Instagram captions, Kourtney was less controversial, wearing a stunning vacation hat by Janessa Leone, a milliner also loved by Meghan Markle.
- Marine Serre Fitted Moon Print Top, $290
- House of Sunny Hockney Dress, $137
- Janessa Leone Martina Hat, $322
- Nike Women's Air Force 1 Sage Low Platform Sneaker, $100
What’s on Sale
We’re admittedly a bit relieved that Luisa Via Roma’s “Halloween” sale doesn’t have much to do with Halloween at all, and that its massive selection of markdowns includes the high-end, rare, and designer brands we turn to them for in the first place — all for 30 percent off with the code HLW30.
One of InStyle readers’ favorite sex toys, this Lelo Sona Femme Massager (let’s just call it a vibrator, ok?) is down to just $61, which is a much steeper discount than we’ve seen for the device in ages, even compared to Lelo’s own site.
Birkenstock’s most affordable style ever, the Arizona Eva Ultra Lightweight Sandal, is even cheaper than usual, now selling for just $34! Can you hear us sounding the alarms on this deal! It’s truly a good one. And sneaker lovers will sneaker-love this deal on the unspoken celebrity shoe: Veja’s Urca Faux Leather Sneakers are 30 percent off, bringing them down to $105.
Moving on, we found an actually chic pair of shapewear briefs (we wouldn’t even be bashful to show them off at the end of a date) from Wolford. The sheer, waist-control panties go higher than the typical rise of high-waist panties, so you don’t need to worry about a pinched look.
Lastly, the little bag celebrities are perpetually toting from place to place has been spotted on sale. By Far’s Rachel bag is over $100 off today, and if that’s not a Halloween miracle, we don’t know what is.
