Asda ditch Black Friday and launch alternative sale – and you can shop deals now

Asda famously pulled out of Black Friday in 2015, but today the retailer has launched an alternative sale event to entice shoppers.

The new ‘Green is the New Black’ event officially kicks off today in stores, with customers able to score massive discounts across several departments.

Top offers, as revealed on Asda.com, include a selection of popular toys for shoppers hoping to snap up a bargain gift for the kids ahead of Christmas.

Highlights include the LOL‘Bigger’ Surprise for £45, half price savings on the Disney Princess Kitchen now £60 and the Hot Wheels Slot Track Set for £45 (was £75).

The retailer is promoting the offers, which are set run over the course of the next few weeks, as an alternative to the one day blow-out that is traditionally associated Black Friday – which kicks off on November 23.
