Autumn Phillips, 44, married Peter Phillips, 45, 15 years ago in 2008 at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. This is a popular wedding venue, used by couples such as Meghan, Duchess of Sussex and Prince Harry, and also Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. The royal wore a very modest wedding dress, and reportedly asked the designer to ensure her shoulders were “covered”.
Sassi Holford designed Autumn’s wedding dress, which was the first royal wedding for a grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
Ms Holford explained that Autumn “felt that shoulders should be covered”, the designer told Yahoo UK.
“There were certain things that she felt would be right and proper for a royal wedding,” she added.
According to reports, Autumn sought advice from Lady Sarah Chatto, the daughter of Princess Margaret, about royal protocol for wedding dresses.
Ms Holford claimed that even the late Queen “highly approved of the dress”.
A French lace shrug was placed over Autumn’s shoulders and her custom-made dress featured a silk duchesse skirt and bodice.
Autumn was additionally gifted the Festoon tiara by her mother-in-law, Princess Anne, to hold her veil in place.
The new Mrs Phillips wore an off-white duchesse satin gown embellished with Chantilly lace.

It featured a tight waist with a striking belt and a voluminous skirt which fanned out into a train.
The bride’s veil had lace borders, and the top of her dress was covered by a short-sleeved lace bolero jacket.
The Montréal-born bride actively participated in the design process, according to Ms Holford, attending six fittings over a six-month period.
The project was so private that she was unable to share her progress with her team or even her mother.
The final design was incredibly beautiful, with Autumn looking radiant on her wedding day surrounded by bridesmaids wearing a mint green colour.
Sassi Holford, a renowned bridal designer, had long been renowned in Somerset for her wedding attire.
Autumn and Peter Phillip’s wedding on May 17, 2008, only helped to further raise Ms Holford’s status as a wedding dress designer.
Autumn was the first person other than Princess Anne to wear the Festoon tiara in public when she wore it at her wedding.
The gorgeous diamond diadem had been in Anne’s jewellery collection since 1973.
After she christened one of the World-Wide Shipping Group’s ships, a Hong Kong company, they gifted it to the Princess.
Autumn added a matching necklace with a pendant made of diamonds and pearls to go with her earrings to complete her bridal look.
According to reports, Peter gave her the jewels as a wedding present. Throughout the couple’s marriage, she frequently wore the traditional ensemble to formal occasions, including Kate Middleton and Prince William’s wedding in 2011.
