Crafty mum comes up with hilarious stocking filler for the kids which guarantees they’ll wash properly over Christmas

CHRISTMAS DAY is tomorrow and if you’re scrambling at the thought of what to buy your kids, don’t worry.

A crafty mum has created a hilarious "game-changer" gift that is not only a present but a hack to get children to wash properly.

Joanne Mccabe, 45, was looking for Christmas stocking filler ideas for her three children, Paige, 27, Nathan, 20, and Freddie, 10, and decided to kill two birds with one stone.

The mum-of-three from Swansea, Wales, came up with the idea to put £5 notes inside bars of soap.

She bought easy-pour soap and a mould to create the quirky gifts and it took just two minutes.

Images show Joanne holding a clear bar of soap with £5 notes wrapped in cellophane rolled up inside of it.

Joanne posted her ingenious hack on social media where it has become a hit with parents looking to make sure their children wash their hands and stay clean.

The mum shared images of her brainwave on Facebook last week and said: “Just an idea if you're looking for something a little different for a stocking filler made from easy-poured soap and wrapped in cellophane.

Speaking to Deadline News, Joanne said: “I tried soap making for the first time six weeks ago to keep myself busy and I really enjoyed it so I made some to give as gifts to keep the cost of Christmas presents to a minimum for the family.

“Then, I thought about my children's Christmas stockings.

“I wanted to give them something a bit different this year and thought how funny it would be to give them money that they can't get straight away.

“I thought ‘well money is plastic’ so I tried one first and it worked out perfectly so I made them one each.

"I don't know if they'll be impressed, I think they will be fuming they can't get to it straight away to spend it.

"It's a good idea for small children to encourage them to wash their hands with Covid cases back on the rise.

“It's important we encourage young children to wash their hands in times like this, and this is a good way to do so.”
