Diana Ross, 75, Commands the Stage in Sexy Black Gown at CBS' Motown 60 Special
She’s coming out! Diana Ross made a statement at CBS’ Motown 60: A Grammy Celebration with her stellar performance and her gorgeous gown.
The Queen of Motown took the stage in a V-neck draped black dress with ruched neckline and floor-grazing hem. She accessorized with fingerless elbow-length lace gloves, long necklace and matching drop earrings, fitting for the legendary diva.
The Supremes superstar was one of the many famous faces who performed at the TV special in honor of the 60th anniversary of Motown Records. Others included John Legend, Boyz II Men, Stevie Wonder, Fantasia and Meghan Trainor who each took the stage. Smokey Robinson and Cedric the Entertainer co-hosted the event and Motown’s founder Berry Gordy even made an appearance.
The special was filmed back on February 12, two days after the Grammy Awards, and aired on Sunday, April 21. The icon also performed at the 2019 Grammys to highlight all her career accomplishments as a solo performer and her years as part of Motown’s, The Supremes.
Since her performances in February, Ross celebrated a big milestone — her 75th birthday — and partied with her famous friends in over-the-top fashion.
She hosted two soirées on March 26, which all kicked off at the famed Hollywood hotspot Warwick on Sunset Boulevard, where Beyoncé serenaded her with an impromptu version of “Happy Birthday.” Guests included Ross’ daughter Tracee Ellis Ross, son Evan Ross, and daughter-in-law Ashlee Simpson, as well as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Robin Thicke, DJ Khaled, Heidi Klum, Chris Rock, French Montana, Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian and Khloé Kardashian.
An insider told PEOPLE that the party moved down the street to the Hollywood Palladium where there was an epic concert with performances by Diddy, Wonder, Thicke, Evan Ross and Simpson who all performed alongside the birthday girl herself, who belted her classics including “Come See About Me,” “The Boss,” “Your Love” and her 1970 Motown classic, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.”
And she didn’t just sing during her birthday concert, she made five different wardrobe changes as the night wore on, switching from an orange ruffled gown to a sparkly gold gown with white stole on stage.
“Diana was smiling from ear to ear all night,” the insider told PEOPLE. “You could tell she thought it was a great birthday celebration.”
