Eye/LOEWE/Nature FW20 Is a Colorful Exercise in Upcycling

LOEWE has unveiled the fourth season of its Eye/LOEWE/Nature line, showcasing an eclectic range of outdoor staples with a focus in upcycling for better sustainability. The assemblage follows the label’s vibrant SS20 collection, which captured British actor Josh O’Connor hiking through the hills of Mount Fuji, Japan for its lookbook.

Spanning parkas, windbreakers, fleeces, knitwear, shirts, T-shirts, hiking boots and accessories, this season’s range is packed with military-inspired designs, like cargo pockets, camouflage, cuts reminiscent of classic surplus silhouettes and even materials like ballistic nylon and polar fleece. “The main story this season has a military inspiration,” notes LOEWE’s Creative Director Jonathan Anderson in a press release. “We have upcycled military tents in order to build these pieces, each one different from the other. From patchworks of existing flannel check shirts, a series of new shirts has been developed. We have carried the upcycling ethos in accessories, too, crafting a convertible bag out of camouflage army jackets and a tote from vintage fleece jackets.”

Apart from embroidered logo tees, hoodies, long-sleeves and sweatpants, one noteworthy piece is a pair of cargo pants constructed from mismatching camo patches. It comes with a flurry of contrasting patterns, like digital and duck camo, colored in palettes of orange, blue, beige, brown, olive and orange, complemented by pockets sporadically placed around the pants. Another highlight in the collection is a multi-paneled jacket that’s been weatherized with GORE-TEX materials. Other pieces like canvas rucksacks, knit sweaters, fleece bucket hats, raincoats, patchwork flannels, zip-up hoodies and hiking boots, round off the expansive lineup.

LOEWE’s Eye/LOEWE/Nature Fall/Winter 2020 collection will be available on October 29 on LOEWE’s website — prices have yet to be confirmed.
