I ditched Lidl and went to M&S for my food shop & got so much meat and goodies for bargain prices, I’m totally converted | The Sun

A WOMAN was left stunned when she hit up Marks & Spencers for a food shop and couldn't believe the prices.

Summer, from the UK, took to TikTok to share her shopping haul which cost her £70 and included lots of meat and goodies.

The foodie (@summerstangerx) revealed that she usually shops at Lidl but was shocked by how much the prices had gone up so took herself to M&S – and it was clearly a winner.

Summer was seriously impressed by the amount she bought and started the video off by showing the amount of meat she picked up.

She said: "So I've just got back from M&S, and I have a food haul.

"I am really, really, really impressed.

So first I thought I'd go through the meat."

Summer picked up a pork belly joint for £6.23, a packet of chicken wings for £1.20, apacket of chicken legs for £1.20, and two packs of their finest bacon.

Summer also grabbed a sirloin steak, buttermilk chicken tenders, and a packet of minced beef she plans to use to make burgers and meatballs.

The foodie also added the stir fry meal deal kit to her trolley which included prawns, sauce and noodles for just £7.

For fruit and veg, Summer picked up apples, avocados, mushrooms, spring onions, lettuce, and green beans.

Included in the huge haul was M&S own-brand coco pops for £1.20, sausage rolls, English muffins, chicken broth, apple juice, rice, sugar, stuffing mix, chopped tomatoes, kidney beans, coconut milk, sour cream, double cream, potatoes, biscuits, milk, tin foil, and 15 eggs.

"So here's my receipt, £70, I literally couldn't believe it and there is so much meat there, like, the amount of meat I got is literally ridiculous.

"That will definitely be me doing my shop there," she added.

Captioning the post, Summer wrote: "The M&S hype is so real!"

The video has since gone viral with over 70k views and over 1,000 likes.

People quickly took to the comments section to share their thoughts – many revealed they also have started shopping at M&S because of the bargain prices.

One wrote: "Starting to think I should shop there cos Aldi is not cheap anymore and the quality of there fruit and veg is awful carrots runny with a week date on."

Summer replied: "I’m the same I usually shop in Lidl and noticed it has gone up so so so much!! And was so shocked at m&s but so happy!"

Another person commented: "I’ve started doing most of my weekly shop at M&S. the quality is definitely better than most supermarkets!"

"Always shop in M&S now. Asda is so downhill and Aldi has gone expensive," penned a third.

Meanwhile, a fourth added: "Their fresh stuff lasts ages. Just finished some lettuce that 'went off' on 8 March!"
