Meghan Markle and Prince Harry see their Windsor move as an escape from ‘fish bowl’ life of Kensington Palace, royal source claims

MEGHAN Markle and Prince Harry see their upcoming move to Windsor as an escape from the "fish bowl" life of Kensington Palace, a royal source has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are weeks away from moving into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor and are believed to have spent over £3 million on renovating their Grade II-listed home.

However with their new arrival also expected in a matter of weeks, a source close to the couple have said they are looking forward to setting up their new home away from the other Royals.

Since tying the knot in St George's Chapel in Windsor last May, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been living in a modest two-bedroom cottage within the Kensington Palace estate.

But a friend of the couple told People magazine that Harry and Meghan see their Windsor move as an escape from the "fish bowl" of life in Kensington Palace.

Describing the couples's move to Frogmore Cottage as "a really healthy thing to do", the source said: "It must be nice [for Harry and Meghan] to get out and away.

"Without neighbours who are all either family or staff [at Kensington Palace], they will now have their own thing."

However, the couple are still planning on seeing The Queen whenever she visits Windsor.

Describing Frogmore Cottage's proximity to Her Majesty's residence, a former palace staffer said: "When The Queen is there on a Sunday afternoon, it is a five-minute walk up the hill for tea with Granny."

Although the couple were already supposed to have moved into their new home by now, The Sun exclusively revealed last week that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had delayed their move until next month due to their constant design changes.

The couple have down several interior walls to create five enormous bedrooms as part of their £3 million renovation.

Meanwhile, they have also reportedly splashed out £50,000 soundproofing their home from the "racket" caused by Heathrow planes.

In more Royal Family news, Meghan Markle's "flirty" tongue-pokes are an attempt to make the public see her as "funny and real like Princess Diana", a body language expert has claimed.

And the Duchess of Sussex's ex-husband Trevor Engelson's friends made a sly dig at Meghan Markle during his stag do speech.

Plus now that Prince Harry's married to Meghan Markle, he "doesn't need" Prince William according to a relationship expert.
