UNIFORME Paris' FW20 Collection Is an Exploration Into Sustainable Luxury and the Wild
Parisian label UNIFORME continues its sustainable efforts for Fall/Winter 2020, debuting a collection packed with formal yet unrestricted garments perfect for any discerning minimalist aficionado.
Each piece is hand-made in France by local craftsmen, which further aids the brand’s sustainable approach. Although this means a lengthier production process is almost certain, it also assures that products are produced with the finest and utmost amount of attention to detail — something that can be seen within the collection.
Throughout, you’ll find garments in earthy tones and mineral hues taking form on the likes of an oversized “Ice Blue” checkered shirt, military-indebted knitted vests, and a standout padded parka that features an extensive amount of rope detailing that helps to tighten the waist and, subsequently, play with volume and silhouettes.
Elsewhere, UNIFORME Paris explores the realm of tailoring and formal clothing by combining wide-leg trousers that are discrete and elegant with a chunky rope belt, secured by a carabiner and finished with oversized knots. As the collection plays with elements of nature, the clothes are a physical representation of this too — an idea of adventure and a reflection on sustainability is embodied by the combination of styles, cuts, and traditional design elements that aren’t quite what they seem at first, leaning somewhere inbetween formal and technical.
UNIFORME Paris headed to one of France’s most outstanding areas of natural beauty, Corrèze, for its Julien T. Hamon-shot and Benoît Martinengo-directed lookbook. This can be seen above, and the collection can be bought on the UNIFORME Paris website now.
