Woman moved to tears in Home Bargains thanks to elderly couple’s incredibly moving gesture

A WOMAN was moved to tears in Home Bargains thanks to an elderly couple’s moving act of kindness.

Destiny Gardner said she had been having a tough day and “had a little cry” while shopping with her son – when the husband and wife came over.

Taking to Facebook, she said: “Today I had a little cry while walking around home bargains. Not something I normally do in public, let alone in a shop.

“But a lovely elderly couple saw my 10 month old boy and passed him a £1 coin (well me) while I was looking at birthday decorations for my eldest son's birthday.

“Lucas gave them the biggest smile and chatted to them. It made their day, and ours.

“For a second I nearly stopped them, thinking about covid etc but couldn’t let that ruin a lovely sentiment.

“It’s the little things that we all forgot about during the last 18 months and this truly made my day and now brings a massive smile to my face every time I think about it.”

After sharing the sweet story on Facebook, it has racked up nearly 4,000 likes.

One person said: “Beautiful gesture from you and the elderly couple.”

Another added: “This is a lovely post. We have all become too sensitive ..we forget that older people, have missed family interaction.”

We shared easy ideas for random acts of kindness.

And neighbours stunned as mystery Good Samaritan posts envelopes containing £100 through letterboxes at Xmas.
