How to make French toast croissants

When it comes to breakfast, there are two sweet treats that go down a storm every time – French toast and croissants.

But what happens when you combine the two to make the ultimate hybrid breakfast recipe?

One Australian TikToker has done the hard work for us.

Ayeh, from Sydney, has come up with a recipe for a French toast croissant – and it’s incredibly easy to make at home.

Firstly, she begins by slicing her croissants length-ways with a knife and then cracks an egg into a bowl.

After, she whisks an egg and adds a dash of almond milk and cinnamon.

Words cant explain! #ily ❤️

Then Ayeh dunks the sliced croissants into the egg, cinnamon and milk mixture – so the pastry absorbs the sweet flavour.

After ensuring each side is fully coated, she adds cooking oil to a frying pan over medium heat and places the croissants into it.

She then flips the croissants to make sure they are golden brown on each side and plates them up.

To serve, she stacks the French toast croissants and dollops ice cream and chocolate sauce on top.

And it’s safe to say that Ayeh’s breakfast creation has gone down a treat with her foodie followers.

One person replied to her video: ‘Ok, ok – I licked my phone.’

While another said: ‘Omg why have I never thought of this?’

Someone else replied: ‘Wow this is such a great idea – looks quick and easy too.’

Ayeh’s profile also shows how to make a selection of other culinary delights, including vegan bolognese, ramen, focaccia and more.

Elsewhere in the world of TikTok food trends, people are making a gravy rub for a roast chicken using Bisto granules – for a crispy skin packed with flavour.
