Iceland issues urgent food recall for chicken product – ‘Do not eat, return immediately’

Iceland is the latest supermarket to ask their customers to return a product because of an allergen risk. The frozen food brand is recalling their Iceland Ready to Eat Tikka Chicken Breast Slices because it contains milk which is not mentioned on the label. Here are the the details. 

The product being recalled is Iceland Ready to Eat Tikka Chicken Breast Slices. 

There have been traces of milk found within the pack which is not mentioned on the label. 

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

Iceland issued a notice saying: “As a voluntary precaution we are recalling Iceland Ready to Eat Tikka Chicken Breast Slices 115g as this product may contain undeclared milk allergen and therefore poses a potential risk to those people that have an allergy or intolerance to milk.” 

The pack size in question is 115g. 

The use by date printed on the pack is November 3, 2021. 

Iceland has also been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall.

The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.

These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product. 

What you should do if you have bought a pack of Iceland Ready to Eat Tikka Chicken Breast Slices recently? 

Iceland says: “If you have bought any of this product – you should not consume it. 

“Check if you have bought any of the affected product.

“You can do this by taking a photo of the notice or writing down the details at home. 

“Please return to any Iceland store where a full refund will be given. 

“No receipt is required. 

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the notice added. 

Iceland also gave customers some contact details. 

“For further details or if you have any questions, please call our Customer Care Line on 0800 328 0800 and select Option 2,” it read.
