Gardener shares ‘best weeding method ever’ they’ve ‘tested out’ that’s natural

Gardening tips: Four homemade hacks to kill garden weeds

Weeds can be a nuisance for any garden and some can cause more problems than just being an eyesore.

These nuisance plants will find a way of growing anywhere, including gravelled driveways and outdoor living spaces.

Knowing how to kill weeds growing in gravel can be done swiftly, and there is one solution that can help those who are “sick of weeding”.

Taking to the Gardening UK Facebook page, one gardener posted a picture of numerous weeds growing through an area of gravel in her garden and asked how she could remove them fast.

Helen Stuart wrote: “I’m sick of weeding this area all the time. Are there some tips that can help me do it faster and will less hassle?”

Group members shared their suggestions in the comments and many of them recommend boiling water.

The heat of the water will collapse the weed’s structure and ultimately kill them.

The hot water breaks through the soil and gets down to the root system, which will help destroy the broad-leaf weed root structure.

Also, the force of the water from the kettle will create additional pressure as it lands on the weeds and roots, which helps break down the structure, whether it is in gravel, patios or paving.
