Spoilers: Illegal business, runaways and surprise visits in Home and Away

This week in Home and Away, Felicity (Jacqui Purvis) is stunned to find out that Mackenzie (Emily Weir) is firing her from Salt. She’s confused about what went wrong – she’s a good worker! After venting to Ryder (Lukas Radovich) and learning that Mackenzie has fired him before, only to change her mind later, she decides to walk back in and take her job back. However, she quickly realises the firing wasn’t personal and discovers what’s really going on with Mackenzie’s mounting debt. Felicity nonchalantly suggests a solution – underground poker nights! But will Mackenzie turn to illegal money-making to save her business?

Elsewhere, Bella (Courtney Miller) is becoming increasingly annoyed by Chloe’s (Sam Barrett) clingy behaviour. Her friend takes it as far as to follow her to TAFE, insist she stays for a class, and then decides to help her on her assignment. Bella tries to get Dean (Patrick O’Connor) to intervene, but to her frustration, he feels sorry for her and says she can stay another night. When Bella discovers in the morning that Chloe has begun doing her assignment for her, she snaps and tells Chloe to leave, saying she has to go and face her own family…

Mia’s continued sleepwalking has dangerous consequences

Mia has been reunited with Chloe after the pair spent some time apart to grieve over Ari. Now that mother and daughter are back under the same roof, Chloe admits she’s struggling to process the loss. Mia suggests trying to get back into her normal routine – with the first step being to pick up some shifts at the Diner. Chloe reluctantly does so, while Mia returns to the gym. Tane isn’t convinced Mia is OK either, and his suspicions are confirmed when Mia disappears from the house again that night. She’s sleepwalking again – and this time she’s walking head-first into oncoming traffic…

Felicity has an illegal idea to save Mackenzie’s money troubles

Mackenzie is facing mounting debt problems at Salt, and in order to cut costs, she takes Felicity to one side and says she’s going to have to let her go. Felicity is left reeling, but after speaking with Ryder she decides not to give up so easily and defiantly returns to the bar. Mackenzie says she can work all she likes if she’s fine with not being paid, but she is soon distracted when a seafood supplier refuses to hand over the delivery – Mack hasn’t paid the invoice. Felicity takes Mackenzie to one side and learns of the money troubles – then comes up with an idea to make some quick cash. Underground poker nights in Salt…

Bella kicks Chloe out and tells her to face her family

Chloe is making it abundantly clear she isn’t about to leave Bella’s side, even accompanying her friend to a TAFE class and getting involved in the lesson. Back at the Farm House, Chloe gears up to help Bella out with her assignment, much to Bella’s annoyance. Chloe insists they do it together, offering critical feedback and even writing a portion of it overnight. Bella runs out of patience and becomes frustrated that even Dean is watching the situation, but failing to establish boundaries. Wanting time to complete the assignment herself without Chloe by her side constantly, Bella tells Chloe she has to leave, go home and face her family…

Nikau suspects Chloe of a cruel theft

Nikau is getting through his grief in his own way, waking with the sunrise and doing his Taiaha warrior training on the beach. Meanwhile, Chloe arrives back home after being sent away by Bella and is furious to discover that her friend has immediately made plans with Nikau. Full of rejection, Chloe wonders why Nikau can help with Bella’s assignment, but not her. She stews by herself while Nikau and Bella work together on the beach, using Nikau’s warrior training as inspiration for the TAFE project. Later that night, Nikau goes into his room and discovers his Taiaha is gone. He immediately knows who could be behind the theft – a vengeful Chloe…

Marilyn starts being rude to customers and rifling through bins

Marilyn has returned from her time away to visit Jett and Raffy, and as Roo sits chatting with Ziggy outside the Surf Club in the morning Marilyn hands over her order. However, Roo jokes that Marilyn has it the wrong way around – it’s her dad who has the tea; she has coffee. To Roo and Ziggy’s surprise, Marilyn gets irritable and snaps that if she doesn’t like the drink, she should make it herself. Over the course of the day, Marilyn continues being rude to customers, getting orders wrong and dropping plates. Roo’s concerns reach their peak when she spots Marilyn at the caravan park, looking frazzled and rifling through the bins…

Theo runs away from the Bay as Leah returns?

Theo is distracted and apprehensive at work in the garage, knowing that Leah is due back soon and she’s been in the city speaking to his father, Dimitri. Although Justin and Ziggy do their best to preoccupy him, Theo is full of anxiety about his father potentially telling lies to Leah and causing her to kick him out. Justin then admits Leah knows all about Theo’s video challenges, making his worry rise further. Theo says he’s going to pick up some parts, but when the supplier calls later, Justin and Ziggy realise Theo was lying. Later, Justin is thrilled to see Leah back at home, but he’s got bad news – half of Theo’s belongings, and his car, are missing…

Jasmine gets a surprise visit from a stranger she is connected to

Cash has recently given Jasmine the unexpected news that her father has passed away. Jasmine is initially unruffled by the news, saying that she hasn’t known him since he was six so she can hardly feel anything now. However, after a few choice words from an oblivious Felicity – namely that, while her dad couldn’t help how he left the world, Jasmine’s dad could have been a street away her whole life and she wouldn’t have known – the floodgates open and Jasmine returns home, sobbing into Cash’s arms. They later go out for dinner, and while Irene is home alone she hears a knock at the door. She opens the door to a strange man, and cautiously asks who he is. The man explains his name is Xander – he’s Jasmine’s brother…

Newcomer Rose has the hots for Jasmine’s boyfriend

Xander is not the only newcomer to the Bay – he’s come with Rose, who is also connected to Jasmine’s long-lost family. The pair remain a mystery for now, but when Rose is swimming in the ocean pool she runs into Cash. As the police officer takes his shirt off to get in, Rose can’t help but eye him up, and she admits she could get used to swimming here. Cash is oblivious to the flirtation, but will this be the last he hears from Rose?
