Aldi now does an oozy breaded camembert for Christmas – The Sun

ALDI is releasing a mouth-watering breaded camembert this week to make those winter nights in extra cheesy.

The German supermarket says the “rich and creamy Cornish camembert” is best served with a sweet and tangy red currant chutney.

The breaded camembert is being added to shelves as a seasonal fixture and will cost £2.15 for a 160g pack.

The cheese, which can be cooked in 16 minutes, comes with a sweet and tangy redcurrant dip and contains 293 calories per camembert.

We shopped around and found that other UK supermarkets are selling breaded camembert, with the closest alternative being Sainsbury’s permanent addition of own-brand cheese.

It's more expensive though at £2.50 for a 200g pack, although you will be getting slightly more per pack.

Waitrose is also stocking its own permanent addition two breaded Cornish camemberts in a 200g pack, costing £3.49 – an extra £1.34 compared to Aldi's version.

Sadly, you won’t be able to buy them online so you’ll need to visit your nearest Aldi to buy your camembert.

Aldi currently has 830 stores in the UK and you can find your nearest one by using the online store finder.

Aldi’s also selling booze-filled Christmas food including maple and bourbon gammon and prosecco panettone.

Meanwhile, the supermarket has also dropped its festive sarnie range featuring a hog roast sandwich and a turkey and trimming wrap.
