An award-winning mattress, AirPods and swimwear: Best Black Friday deals
As the rising cost of living tightens Australian purse strings, budget-conscious shoppers are expected to storm the 2022 Black Friday sales ahead of the festive season.
“Christmas is a notoriously expensive time of year, and soaring inflation will make it even worse,” says Chris Jager, shopping expert at Finder. “Many will be looking to the Black Friday sales as a way to make some savvy savings this side of Christmas.”
The American import, centred around the Thanksgiving long weekend, has exploded into the Australian market in recent years with many retailers and brands commencing their sales days in advance.
Jager encourages shoppers to do their research before they buy. “There’s a lot of junk during Black Friday sales – old tech, off-season fashion and unknown brands of dubious quality are commonplace.”
“However, it’s definitely possible to get a genuine deal on products you actually want and need. Popular brands like Dyson typically offer up to 25 per cent off the RRP, and sometimes much higher.”
Below, we’ve curated our pick of the best places to shop this week. And be sure to check back in the days ahead as new sales are announced.
