Bindi Irwin compares dad Steve Irwin’s death to ‘losing a part of your heart’
There is not a day that goes by that Bindi Irwin doesn’t think of her father, Steve Irwin.
Irwin, the beloved Crocodile Hunter, died while working on the underwater film “Ocean’s Deadliest” in 2006 after a stingray attacked him. He was just 44, leaving behind daughter Bindi, who was 8 at the time, and son Robert, only 2.
“I remember people coming up to me and saying, ‘I’m sorry for your loss, sweetheart. Time heals all wounds.’ But that’s just not true,” Bindi told People. “It’s like losing a part of your heart, and when you’ve lost that, you never get it back.”
