Brazil’s Most Popular Fashion Brand Finally Launched in the U.S.

If we’re talking fashion, there are few things better than when it’s finally time to clear out the heattech (and all of those seemingly identical turtlenecks) to make room for the brighter, lighter offerings of spring. Lucky for us, that time is time is now. Just like clockwork, beloved Brazilian fashion brand Farm Rio is launching in the U.S. — carrying over the vibrant spirit of Rio de Janeiro  in the form of tropical prints and easy, beach-ready silhouettes that are guaranteed to infiltrate your Instagram feed this season.

“Farm Rio’s first U.S. collection is designed with a global audience in mind, blending the distinct elements of nature with the energy only found in Brazil’s most radiant city,” co-founder, Katia Barros, tells InStyle. “The collection draws from the best of Farm Rio’s archival prints, including a playful mix of bananas, toucans, cashews and other natural elements.”

That energy is surely evident across the collection. From the perfect puff-sleeve and rainbow crochet tops to matching sets and pattern-mashed mini dresses, Farm Rio’s colorful, carefree pieces embody that feeling of drafting an automatic out-of-office email response ahead of a full two-week tropical vacation. What’s more? The pieces actually come at an accessible price point, too — with most falling somewhere between $50 and $300 — so you can afford both the vacation and the clothes.

And while it’s clear Farm Rio has made a fan out of us, you don’t have to just take our word for it. Before stepping foot in the U.S. just last week, Farm Rio had won over its home country of Brazil, quickly becoming an anchor of its fashion scene from its inception in 1997, when its founders were selling out of a humble market booth.

For its jump stateside, the brand will be available online at Shopbop, Anthropologie, and the Farm Rio site, with its first U.S. flagship location opening in New York City’s SoHo neighborhood on April 15. Until then, jump into some of our favorite Farm Rio pieces available online right now below — and get excited, warmer days are ahead.
