Cheltenham Festival 2019: Chris Hughes reveals what star jockey Aidan Coleman gets up to on a night out

The pin-up has been best mates with the Grade 1-winning rider since they were small.

Speaking to Sun Racing's Matt Chapman in an exclusive interview ahead of the Cheltenham Festival, Hughes said: "Aidan and I have always been close.

"When we go out he eats a lot as he never has to worry about his weight. I always get the bill, bless him.

"He's a liability, though. He'll have a few beers and I'd say he's on a par with Kem (Cetinay, also from Love Island) when we're talking about who's more dangerous!

"He would surprise a few people, I think."

Hughes may have made his name cracking on with Olivia Atwood on reality TV series Love Island, but the racing world is where his heart really lies.

Only last year he competed in a charity race at York racecourse where he looked the ultimate pro, guiding his mount round to finish fifth.

His big chum Coleman will take the ride on hot favourite Paisley Park for the Sun Racing Stayers' Hurdle next week and Hughes will be cheering him on.

He added: "I've got to stay loyal to one of my best friends. Paisley Park stays for days and he's my selection for the big race."
